Fall is one of the best times to enjoy a sunset in Ludington!
The formula? Lake Michigan + the blues of a Fall sky + vibrant colors from the setting sun = a warm glow that lingers over the Lake. It’s a scene unlike any other season!
- First Curve – or really, anywhere along M-116 that starts the 3-mile drive along the coastline heading into Ludington State Park. Park in one of the pull-offs, or along the side of the side of the road, and settle in atop a dune. The views are spectacular and a perfect place to capture frame-worthy, panoramics of the sun sinking into Lake Michigan.
- North Breakwater Light Pier – this is a prime viewing location for days when Lake Michigan is calm! Head all the way to the light, or just to the point where the pier narrows; either way, it’s a picturesque place to be!
- Buttersville Park, Campground & Beach – A hidden gem, this area is located between Lake Michigan and Pere Marquette Lake. Quiet in the Fall months, the space provides stunning views of Lake Michigan shoreline with views of the North Breakwater Light in the distance. The park offers steps down to the beach and is a perfect spot to view sunset.
- Stearns Park Beach – As cooler temps prevail, head for Stearns Park Beach, where you can view sunset through your windshield! Or, wrap up in a blanket and sit on one of the benches to soak up the last bits of sunlight.
