ABOUT THE EVENT
We’ve joined with Nautical Yarn and other Ludington, Michigan bed and breakfasts to create a relaxing weekend getaway that combines knitting, great food and time with friends! Join us April 6-8, 2018 as the talented team at Nautical Yarn teaches a class on Andrea Mowry’s “The Weekender” sweater.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Beginning at 5PM on Friday, April 6 Nautical Yarn will host a brief fitting class with a light pizza and salad dinner. “The Weekender” is an over-sized sweater that doesn’t require a lot of fitting, but we’ll cover the basics of garment fitting. You will also knit and block your swatch to be measured Saturday morning.
Start your Saturday morning with a delicious breakfast and then return to Nautical Yarn where the team will cover the skills required for the sweater, including the Long-Tail Tubular cast-on. You’ll be able to cast on the stitches for your sweater, as well as work on the bottom hems and body.
After lunch Saturday, learn the shoulder shaping skills required, including two methods of short-row shaping.
Saturday evening, grab your knitting friends and head to dinner at one of Ludington’s great restaurants! Following dinner, return to The Lamplighter Bed & Breakfast for a knitting and dessert reception.
Back at Nautical Yarn on Sunday morning, learn two bind-off skills including 3-needle bind-off and Tubular bind-off with Kitchener Stitch.
